Inspiration

Well it seems inspiration has found me.

After about 3 months of my (musical) keyboard and 3 brand new music authoring packages staring me in the face and never quite getting enough inspiration to put them to good use, opportunity came in the form of a mini audio advert on TripleJ FM.

Seems they have some sort of a remix competition going on. The prize isn't all that much, just meet the artist who wrote the song up for remixing. Would be interesting no doubt but not what I would call high excitement. Here's the link for the comp's details:

The most frustrating thing I have found when I take samples or try to remix on my own is that it's so damn hard seperating the vocals from the background. Atleast in this comp they have done that for you.

This should be interesting to say the least....
Work is still going psycho and I am preparing to move house so i'm not sure how much time I will find to do such a project. Still I really want to give this a great shot. Time to grab the 30 day demo of Kontact (computer driven sampler) and check out all those new lovely soft synths to see what I can come up with.

What to blog?

Well after my bleerey eyed (1:30am) start to blogging i now have a vaguely clear head and can comprehend my own actoins. As good a place as any the straw that broke this little cammels back was a good workmate of mine started his own blog as he prepares to go to spain for several months (ahh the life!). So having thought about starting one of these things for like forever that just tipped me over and here we go... off and sailing.
Still feels kinda strange posting my life to the net but hey i get to edit the details too :).

Well i'm in a panic at the moment so i'll cut this one short, got a formal tender to write for work that's only half done with a bunch of vendors complicating matters and a boss that I have to prove to that I am truly capable of getting these things done. Down side of it is i'll be a victim of my own success, i get this one and i'll have to do more... More to post later...

My first little stumblings around blogging.

I have been debating staring one of these things for the longest time, still wondering why i'm doing it other than to play with a new toy. Still we'll see how it looks and work on it from there...
